Invertebrates
There are many different types of invertebrates that are of common use in the saltwater aquarium. Some, like hermit crabs,
emerald crabs, snails, cucumbers and starfish are used to keep our tanks free of waste and of unsightly algae. Peppermint shrimp
and Berghia nudibranches are useful in the eradication of other pests such as aptasia and majano anemones while cleaner
shrimp set up cleaning stations for our fish to rid them of external parasites.
But there are other invertebrates such as oysters, scallops and clams that seemingly serve no other purpose than to add beauty
to our prized displays!
