Filtration is an absolute must for any aquarium! Since most fish and corals require at least good water quality, a better-than good filtration system is recommended. Obviously, the size will depend on the aquarium that you plan on setting up. We have custom sumps/refugiums built by multiple sources. When it comes to protein skimmers, there are so many good brands on the market that choosing one would be a matter of self-preference! But buy cheap and the breakdown of your water quality will surely make you pay! Whatever the size of your aquarium, there is a skimmer developed to help clean it. There are different kinds of skimmers, such as hang-on-the- back skimmers, internal, and external skimmers but at the end of the day it’s up to you to decide what is best for your application!
