our tea selection

EARTH NEW VITHANAKANDE TEA ESTATE New Vithanakande estate sits at an elevation of only 130m or 430 feet, where the soil conditions of the low country give the tea a black leaf appearance and thickness in the cup. New Vithanakande has a complex caramel flavour and has hints of forest fruits; a tea truly blessed by nature. AIR PLANTERS’ GREEN Handpicked from the high-altitude misty peaks bordering Nuwara Eliya, each leaf is carefully curled and pan-heated to lock in a delicate, mellow flavour and the distinctive aroma of fresh-cut grass. FIRE SERENDIPITY SOUCHONG This Souchong tea is gently smoked for up to 3 hours over cinnamon wood. To many producers, this smell would destroy the flavour of their tea, however the expert controlling of the fire gives our Souchong Serendipity a sweet spicy note. WATER SILVER TIPS Handpicked in Sri Lanka’s cool “up-country,” each bud is carefully selected for its purity and delicacy. The notes in lighter teas like this are best enjoyed when brewed in soft water producing delicate flavours of apricot, melon and fresh cut flowers. PLANTERS’ RANGE PLANTERS’ BREAKFAST Strong and full bodied. The perfect conditions for creating that rich full taste are found in the Dimbula Valley. PLANTERS’ MISTRESS A light, golden tea scented with bergamot, orange and lemon peel that leaves the palate feeling refreshed with a pleasant citrus flavour. PLANTERS’ AFTERNOON Light and crisp with floral undertones. Ideal on its own or with a splash of milk. PLANTERS’ EARL GREY The most aristocratic of teas is infused with the unmistakable aroma of bergamot. PLANTERS’ DECAF Bold, strong and full of flavour, minus the caffeine.
