Partnership opportunities 2025
Introduction
As the global representative body for national associations of consulting engineers, FIDIC represents over one million engineering professionals and 40,000 firms in around100 countries worldwide. The buildings and infrastructure sector in which FIDIC members work contributes around $36 trillion to global GDP, therefore FIDIC has significant reach into a highly influential global industry sector. Delegates attending will include CEOs and c-suite executives from the global infrastructure community, including those working in government, finance, consulting engineering, construction, professional services, supply chain, academia, trade associations and asset owners. Invited guests from other industries will also attend to bring different perspectives and to challenge infrastructure sector conventions.FIDIC announced the formation of the Global Leadership Forum in September 2021 to bring senior influencers and decision makers together from the construction and infrastructure sectors to help address the critical issues we face as a society and an industry and to develop workable solutions to solve them. The forum provides a powerful global network for leaders to discuss these issues. Through their discussions, deliberations and actions, we will be able to build a solid coalition of support and buy-in for what needs to be done to address the key global challenges we face and, crucially, how we collaborate to solve them.

2025 key themesSome of the key themes being considered at this year’s event include: -Sustainability - It feels like the industry has been debating sustainability goals and regulations, the skills shortage, digital transformation, cost management and efficiency for many years. Progress is being made, but is it too slow? Is radical culture change needed to speed up and embed progress?Collaboration - How does the sector collaborate more effectively and work to a common framework for delivering decarbonisation of infrastructure? An update on the continued work on a collaboration programme which started as a result of the very first Global Leadership Summit.AI update - How does the sector collaborate more effectively and work to a common framework for embedding AI and using this to drive better outcomes for clients, programmes and the industry’s own organisations? This will be the ‘next chapter’ of a report produced as part of the 2024 Global Leadership Forum programme.Working better together - How does the industry close the gap between the designers, contractors and their supply chain of construction product manufacturers and merchants to ensure the right construction products are specified and delivered to enable the successful decarbonisation of infrastructure projects?
