Church Secretary’s Notes
Happy
new
year
to
you
all.
What
has
2022
in
store
for
us?
We
certainly
look
forward
to
our
new
minister
Adam
Earle
joining
us
later
in
the
year.
Adam
will
combine
with
David
to
provide
joint
ministry
to
our
five
local
churches.
This
will
be
the
168th
year
since
the
opening
of
the
independent
chapel
on
our
site
and
Adam
will
be
the
24th
minister!
I
can
remember
the
last
seven
and
I
expect
many
of
you
can
remember
even
more!
We’ve
had
15
different
church
secretaries
–
some
had
two
goes(!)
and
one
even three!
It
will
be
good
to
be
up
to
our
full
complement
of
ministers
which
gives
me
hope
of
exciting
times to come.
Having
said
that
we’ve
yet
to
see
what
restrictions
this
new
strain
of
the
pandemic
will
bring.
We
still
need
more
nominations
for
Elders
and
offers
of
extra
help
on
door
duties
etc.
Perhaps
this
gives
you
a
chance
of
a
new
year’s
resolution!
Please
see
me
if
you
would
like
to
help
with
this
or
any
other
task
you
resolve
to
do.
What
about
Eco
Action
Group?
A
chance
to
engage
with
and
learn
about
environmental
concerns
for
the
church.
Is
that
of
interest
to
you?
We
welcome
William
Glasse
to
our
first
communion of the new year.

Bible Study
Our Monthly Tuesday morning Bible Studies in
January will be via Zoom. You can stay warm and
cosy in your own home but still join with others
for an hour of sharing thoughts and experiences
based on a passage of the Bible.
Our first meeting in the New Year will be on
January 11th when our main passage for study will
be John 2:1-11. Another designated reading for
that week is 1 Corinthians 12: 12-31a, so if we
have time we might look at that too. Meeting
together and sharing our experiences and insights
of God is a very good way to start the new year so
please do join us to share your thoughts or just
listen to others.
When logging on the meeting ID is 889 953 6542.
If you have no internet then you can use your

Thoughts for
the New Year
•
Make time to think - it is the source of
power.
•
Make time to play - it is the key to
freedom and relaxation.
•
Make time to read - it is the gateway to
knowledge.
•
Make time to worship - it washes the
dust of earth from your eyes.
•
Make time to help and enjoy friends - no
other happiness matches this.
•
Make time to love - if you don't it will
fade away.
•
Make time to laugh and pray - these are
two things that lighten life's load.
•
Make time to be alone with God - He is
the Source of everything.
