DEVELOPMENT PLAN IN THREE PHASES

Phase 1

Phase 2

Phase 3

Big Lake Eco Tourism Retreat - A sustainability haven We have developed a phased plan for an exceptional eco-tourism retreat situated in the scenic locales of Glen Margaret, Blind Cove, Hackett’s Cove, and Big Lake, encompassing Bellevue’s expansive 729-acre parcel assembly. With a vision to offer an unparalleled eco-conscious tourism experience to visitors of Nova Scotia, our project unfolds in multiple stages. In the initial phase, we propose the inclusion of 10-15 charming Tiny Homes on Wheels (THOW), connected by an intricate trail network. Complementing this, a vibrant community hub building, a dedicated staff housing structure, and parking facilities comprising 20-25 spaces will enhance the overall retreat experience. It is our primary objective to preserve the natural landscape as much as possible while ensuring the self- sustainability of the retreat units. The preservation of the vast majority of the land for outdoor activities, including hiking, canoeing, and mountain biking, lies at the heart of our development philosophy. By establishing and connecting new hiking and mountain biking trails within the property, we seek to contribute positively to the municipality, enhancing its social and cultural value through greater access to the pristine wilderness. To gain a comprehensive understanding of the project’s viability and garner the support of the municipality, we are actively seeking feedback from HRM (Halifax Regional Municipality) staff and councillors. This collaborative approach allows us to align the project with the requirements and expectations of the municipality, creating a mutually beneficial partnership. In crafting the conceptual site plan, we enlisted the expertise of John Zuck & Associates Landscape Architecture, who skillfully integrated the wetland and environmental mapping provided by McCallum Environmental Ltd. This meticulous approach ensures that our development remains sensitive to the surrounding eco-system while preserving its natural integrity. With our Big Lake Eco-Tourism Retreat, we aspire to create a haven where sustainability, nature, and unparalleled experiences converge harmoniously.
